Our Scouts joined with other troops from around Slemish District for a 2 night camp on the banks of the Maine at Shane's Castle. They had a day of adventure on the Saturday with activities at Escaramouche and then raft building and canoeing on the Lough. They finished the day with around our campfire.
19 Cubs joined with Packs from across County Antrim for a fun day in W5. Our pack then stayed on for a game of bowling followed by watching the Belfast Giants win 6-4 over Dundee Stars. A brilliant day out was had by all.
Over the half term holidays in October, two of our Scouts helped out at the Ballymena Foodbank.
They came back and decided they wanted to raise both awareness for the service provided and help in a more practical level.
They put together a presentation for the rest of the Troop, explaining how the charity works and asking them to each donate some money. That way they could complete an online shop and purchase the items that they knew the Foodbank were in desperate need for.
Today the shopping was delivered and the Scouts were delighted to be able to officially hand it over to our representatives from St Columba's who volunteer at the Foodbank, Les Hughes and Stclair Beatty.
Before they left, the Scouts made sure all dates were clearly marked on the items as this will help save time for the volunteers at the Foodbank.
Well done Scouts!
